Facts for Kids (“we”, “the app”) is an Android application for children and families. This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app.
Who this app is for
The app is designed for children and families. Parents and guardians should review this policy and supervise younger users.
What we store on your device
- Saved favourites (Premium) — if you subscribe, fact IDs you save are stored locally in private app storage. We do not upload your favourites to our servers.
- Premium status — if you subscribe, Google Play tells the app whether Premium is active. We cache that status locally so the app works offline.
- Disclosure choice — we remember that you accepted the in-app privacy notice.
Free version — advertising
The free app is supported by Google AdMob:
- A banner ad may appear at the bottom of the screen.
- A full-screen ad may appear after every three facts when you swipe to the next fact.
- Optional rewarded “Boost” ads (Swipe tab only) let you earn credits to go back to a previous fact. You have up to ten boost slots; when below ten, one slot returns every thirty minutes. Banner and interstitial ads do not grant credits.
AdMob may collect device and advertising-related data as described in Google’s Privacy Policy. You can learn more about AdMob data practices at Google AdMob help.
Credits and going back (free users)
Going back to a previously swiped fact costs one credit for free users. Credits are stored only on your device. Premium subscribers have unlimited back without credits or Boost ads.
Premium subscription
Topics and category filters on Swipe are free for everyone. Premium is optional and billed through Google Play. We do not receive your payment card details. Google processes purchases and may collect data according to its own policies. Premium removes all in-app ads, unlocks saving favourites (including text search on your saved facts), sharing, and unlimited back without credits.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not run our own analytics or tracking SDK beyond what AdMob provides in the free tier.
- We do not require an account or email to use the app.
Links you open
If you tap Privacy Policy, Terms, website, or support email inside the app, your browser or email app opens. That is only when you choose to tap.
Children’s privacy
We encourage families to use Premium or device-level ad controls if you prefer fewer ads. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do.
