This privacy policy explains how Ingredient Scan handles information when you use our Android application. The app is operated from Northern Ireland.
Summary
Ingredient Scan does not collect, sell, or share personal data with our servers. There are no ads and no Firebase Analytics. Dietary profiles, scan history, and cached product analyses are stored locally in SQLite.
Information we collect
We do not collect personal information. We do not collect names, email addresses, location data, advertising IDs, or usage analytics.
On-device storage
Dietary profiles, scan history, and cached product analyses are stored locally in SQLite. Uninstalling the app removes this local data.
Permissions
Camera and photos - used only when you scan a barcode or submit a label photo. Images are not uploaded without your explicit crowdsourced submission.
Internet access
Barcode lookups may query Open Food Facts when online. Ingredient analysis runs on-device. No analytics SDKs.
Children's privacy
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Third-party services
If you purchase through Google Play, payment is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.
Your rights
As we do not hold personal data about you on our servers, uninstalling the app removes all locally stored information.
Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top will reflect any changes.
